The Essential MDS 3.0 Course July 19 - 20, 2022

Course Description:
Understanding the MDS 3.0 is critical to all departments within the skilled nursing facility. This class will review the MDS 3.0 in detail from start to completion. A thorough review of each section of the MDS will be held. The course reviews all components of the Minimum Data set, the rules governing it's completion and the management of the MDS process. The class is designed to follow a logical progression from the use of the MDS manual through the use of the completed MDS and its data including an explanation of the Care Area Assessments.
A must attend for new MDS nurses, anyone considering becoming a MDS nurse as well as any department within the SNF that works with the MDS.

Instructor:
Tammy Cassidy, President T. L. Cassidy & Associates, LLC
Ms. Cassidy has over 24 years of long term care management experience. This experience includes roles as Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing, MDS Coordinator, Corporate Clinical Compliance/Risk Manager and Vice President of Clinical Quality. Ms. Cassidy is also a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the State of Ohio. She has worked with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, specializing in MDS, as a DAVE2 surveyor. Ms. Cassidy is certified in gerontological nursing, and is a Certified Resident Assessment Coordinator through the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators. She received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Miami University. A major focus of Ms. Cassidy's is to raise awareness of the MDS process, correct coding, and reimbursement. She is the past president of OANAC (Ohio Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators) and served as a Senior Reviewer for the American Health Care Association Silver Quality Awards. She is also the proud recipient of the American College of Health Care Administrators, Ohio Chapter, 2017 Educator of the Year Award.
