Disaster Summit
November 3 - 4, 2022

The Disaster Summit is an annual event which convenes a wide array of long term health care professionals with emergency preparedness experts who share up to date information on federal and state initiatives, new research, tools and resources, and provides a variety of opportunities for attendees to learn how to implement model practices that will enhance your capabilities to prepare, respond, and recover from disasters and other emergencies.

Over the last several decades, the nature of threats to providers have changed significantly. As professionals it is imperative that we adapt our practices to meet the demands of an ever-evolving threat environment. We hope this summit will provide an opportunity to build stronger partnerships and encourage us to find innovative solutions. Disaster management (or emergency management) is the creation of plans through which providers reduce vulnerability to hazards and cope with disasters. Disaster management does not avert or eliminate threats, instead it focuses on creating plans to decrease their impact.

Why Attend?
The Summit will cover hot topics such as integrating your front-line workforce into disaster planning, OSHA expectations, working with Ohio?s emergency management organization, Emerging Infectious Diseases, and a multi-organizational community tabletop exercise.

CMS requires each facility to participate in at least two exercises per year. Meet one of these mandatory emergency exercise requirements with multi-organizational tabletop exercise presented on second day.
